Clashes leave 10 people killed in Yemen

Tehran, July 15, IRNA -- Clashes between Yemeni government forces and tribesmen seeking the ouster of the Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh has left at least 10 people dead.
The clashes took place near Sharab, 20 kilometers to the northwest of the city of Taiz. A colonel and two of his aides were killed in the incident.
At least 50 people were killed on Thursday during attacks of US drones in southern Yemen while targeting militants hideouts there.
The US army has increased its air strikes in southern Yemen with the aim of reducing the presence of militants who control the southern parts of the country.
Yemen has been the scene of anti-government protests since end of January.
Yemeni protesters demand an end to corruption in Yemeni government, unemployment and more importantly ouster of President Ali Abdullah Saleh.
