Iran says would help sustainable peace in Afghanistan

TEHRAN (ISNA)-Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi said the Islamic Republic of Iran would make efforts for establishment of sustainable peace and security in Afghanistan.
Vahidi who is now in Kabul and was officially invited by his Afghan counterpart Abdul Rahim Wardak, told reporters in Kabul International Airport that his trip seeks expansion of mutual defense relations.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran regards Afghanistan's security as its own security and is ready to work on the issue," he added.
"Iran and Afghanistan can manage to fight threatening elements such as terrorism and drug and any other cause of unrest in the region," Vahidi went on to say.
He expressed hope his trip would help expansion of relations in different fields and further consultations on bilateral, regional and international matters.
