Capitalism-State terrorism-al-Qaeda support triangle suppressed Bahrainis' uprising

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, March 18, IRNA -- Informed and diplomatic sources in Persian Gulf say the triangle of al-Qaeda supporters, state-terrorism and capitalism has led to suppression of the Bahraini people’s uprising as the Saudis committed their biggest historical mistake by interfering in Bahrain internal affairs.

A diplomatic source told IRNA on Friday that CIA had last week threatened Riyadh, which has darkest record in supporting al-Qaeda, to have military interference in Bahrain.

He says Saudis’ military intervention in their neighboring country, Bahrain, is detrimental, likely to provoke unrest in Manama whose inferno would engulf Saudi palaces too.

He says Saudis have committed the strategic mistake at a time when Arab nations even in the wealthiest countries are fed up, looking for a savior.

The seasoned Asian diplomat says the US, using its tactic, managed to change the “Down with the US” slogan into “Down with Saudis” slogan and this should be regarded as a heavy loss for Saudi diplomacy.

Al-Qaeda is a group created by Saudi Arabia and financially and spiritually supported by Riyadh. Americans have many valid documents at hand, using them as tramp cards on special occasions.

An Arab diplomat too told IRNA in an Arab state of the region that Saudis have realized their mistake.

He says Saudis’ acknowledgement to their troop presence in Bahrain on Manama request to support Bahrainis’ infrastructure and find a political solution to the problem has put them in state of humiliation.

The expert who was speaking on condition of anonymity said Saudis should know that nations are now more aware of history than ever and their statements on Zionist regime’s crimes in Gaza and Saddam’s invasion on Kuwait are these days taken into consideration.

Interservice news agency has quoted Thomas Lippman, a Saudi expert at the Council on Foreign Relations as saying that he did not believe presence of Saudis in Bahrain to be as a result of consensus over decision of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council’s foreign ministers.

He says visits of the US Defense Secretary Robert Gates and of the State Secretary Hillary Clinton to the region last week dragged Saudi Regime into Bahrain inferno.

Simon Henderson, a senior researcher at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy (TWI) too says Saudis were only concerned that Bahrain demonstrations would not spread to the Shiite inhabited region east of the country . He says Bahrain file is not universal and situation is different.

Political analysts say CIA abused such a factor and some false information, forcing Riyadh to launch military build-up in Bahrain. This is would be costlier for Saudis than former wars in Persian Gulf, they add.

They believe if popular uprisings in the region get widened in scope, government of Barack Obama will have to face Saudis and the Riyadh-White House dispute would not be unlikely.
