Defense minister refutes Zionist regime claims

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, March 16, IRNA -- Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi here on Wednesday strongly refuted claims by the Tel Aviv regime about interception of a ship carrying Iranian made weapons enroute to Gaza.

Speaking to IRNA, he said that given current developments in Islamic countries which have drawn the attention of the big pwers they try through dissemination of such fabricated news to alleviate pressures on them.

On the strong presence of Iranian naval forces in the Mediterranean Sea, he said under the current sensitive situation in the region, the Zionist regime tries to divert world public opinion from its criminal acts through dissemination of such fabricated news, he said.

On presence of foreign troops in Bahrain, he said presence of aliens will not give legitimacy to such illegal measures.

Regional nations should administer their own affairs and no country should invite forces from other country to suppress its nations, he said.

Presence of foreign forces in another country will damage the sovereignty of that country, he said.

Bahraini officials have made a strategic, political and national blunder and such measures would result in more tension, instability and insecurity, he said.
