TEHRAN (ISNA)-Iran said unrests in Afghanistan are rooted in foreign forces' presence in the war-torn country.

"Iran withholds no effort in establishment of peace, stability and sustainable development in Afghanistan," said Iranian Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar in a meeting with his Afghan counterpart Bismillah Khan Mohammadi in Kabul on Tuesday.

The Iranian Minister underscored that foreign forces are not seriously determined to fight against terrorism and extremism and that insecurities are partly rooted in their presence.

"Their presence in the region intensifies insecurity and increases production and smuggling of drugs and murdering of innocent people", he added.

Mohammad Najjar also stressed the cooperation agreement between the two sides to battle drug, organized crimes and terrorism and expressed Iran's readiness for mutual working group.

Bismillah Khan Mohammadi on his part thanked Iran for its efforts in fight against drug, organized crimes, human and goods trafficking and called for more aid from Iran to confront the threats.
