MUARA, Brunei (NNS) -- The guided-missile frigate USS Reuben James (FFG 57) arrived in Muara, Brunei, on March 4 for a port visit.

During the port visit to Brunei, Sailors from Reuben James will participate in community service events, interact with the local residents and conduct joint military training.

"We are looking forward to our time in Muara and are eager for the opportunity to work with the Royal Brunei Navy, meet with the local people, experience the culture and strengthen the bond between our countries," said Cmdr. David E. Miller, Reuben James' commanding officer.

Sailors from Reuben James will have the opportunity to engage with the Royal Brunei Navy exchanging information and ideas. They will also enjoy time with students from local schools and local residents during community service projects.

The Reuben James will provide local military cadets, students and government officials with guided tours of the ship's space.

Reuben James departed its homeport of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii on Feb. 1 for a Western Pacific deployment, focusing on building positive international relations with partners in Southeast Asia.
