President: US, allies should avoid military intervention

Khorramabad, Lorestan Prov, March 2, IRNA -- President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Wednesday that the US and its allies should avoid military intervention in North Africa and the Middle East region otherwise nations will rise up and dig graves for their soldiers.

'Over the past ten years the US under the pretext of September 11th terror targeted Iraq and Afghanistan. in case they dare to attack North of Africa or the Middle East, you should know that all the nations in the region will stand up and dig graves for your soldiers,' the President said.

President Ahmadinejad said that the US government and its allies are subject to hatred of the international community, adding that they attempted to prepare ground for military intervention in other regions by propaganda.

'You are the number one criminal in the world and no one believes that you are advocating human rights,' underlined President Ahmadinejad.

Recent developments in the region indicated that the people are frustrated with the US and its allies holding them to account for all crimes and plundering their national wealth, he said in reference to the Arab uprising to oust the US-backed regime of Hosni Mubarak .

The President said that the US and its allies are the main supporter of the dictators for abetting to plunder wealth of the nations.

The US has set up various military bases to defend dictators and plunder wealth of the other nations; he said.

The President said that the US and its allies have attempted to dominate oil and gas reserves in the North Africa as well as in some countries in the region.

The president arrived in the provincial capital city of Khorramabad on Wednesday morning. Meeting with the families of martyrs and war veterans as well as the local managers and elites are on Ahmadinejad's agenda during his two-day stay in the province.

This is the President's 87th visit to province since he took office in 2005.
