TEHRAN (ISNA)-An Iranian Foreign Ministry official raised concerns over the recent situation of Yemen, in wake of clashes between pro and antigovernment demonstrators.

"Iran has always underscored the necessity of dialogue and has precluded Yemeni government from resorting to violence", the official said.

He continued that Iran has stressed the necessity of paying attention to people's legitimate and original demands.

During the clashes in front of Sanaa University, two young men were shot dead by government supporters on Tuesday night whom were the first deaths in the clashes in the nearly two weeks since students began calling for the ouster of President Ali Abdullah Saleh.

Yemeni government supporters opened fire on the protesters which left eight people wounded. Oppositions have been staging a sit-in in front of Sana University since Sunday morning.
