'Egypt uprising modeled on 1979 Islamic Revolution': FM

Qazvin, Feb 11, IRNA -- Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said on Friday that the popular uprisings in Egypt, Tunisia and Jordan have been influenced by Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution.
Salehi made the remark in the pre-sermon speech of Friday prayers in the city of Qazvin.
“The people of Egypt, Tunisia and Jordan got the message of Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution right and hence they revolted against their ruling systems,” he added.
Salehi noted that Iran’s Islamic Revolution has been based on monotheism and justice.
He referred to the scientific progress of Iranian universities over past 32 years.
“We have the first place in many areas, including satellite launchers, animal cell research and radio medicine production,” Salehi added.
