Is Hosni Mubarak fleeing the country?

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Cairo, Jan 30, IRNA -- Concurrent with the sixth day of nationwide protests in Egypt against the incumbent regime of Egypt, political analysts have focused on higher possibility of President Hosni Mubarak fleeing the country.

It is said that the Egyptian regime is contemplating on two options for reacting to popular uprising of Egyptians. First, announcing the ouster of Hosni Mubarak and his gradual flight from the country. Secondly, if Mubarak is dismissed he will remain in Egypt to receive guarantees, including not facing any court hearings.

It is rumored that if Mubarak flees Cairo, he will most probably go to London or Saudi Arabia.

The internal affairs of Egypt is presently moving towards complete step-down of President Hosni Mubarak from power and coming to power of his deputy Omar Soleiman.

A section of Egyptian army has been trying to take control of Egypt's internal affairs since Sunday morning.

The majority of Egyptian military personnel, however, believe that Mubarak's reinstatement will inflict heavy losses on Egypt's army in the light of popular uprisings in the country.

Some sources believe that the former army commanders, including the Interior Minister Habib Adeli who is held responsible for directing Egypt towards a chaotic situation and also the influential merchants and rich people will be brought to justice for abuse of power.

In the sixth day of nationwide uprisings in Egypt, soldiers fled the barracks.

Egyptian army that was called to duty to confront the popular uprising in the sixth day did not obey military orders and even several soldiers surrendered their equipment to people without any resistance.

Political analysts are of the opinion that if the Egyptian army adopts a clear stance, President Hosni Mubarak's regime will collapse immediately.
