IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Abu Dhabi, Jan 20, IRNA -- IRI Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said here Wednesday Zionists' footprints are clearly seen in many of the Islamic world crises.
According to IRNA's dispatched reporter, Larijani made the comment during his meeting with the officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran's representatives in UAE, referring to the recent developments in Tunisia, Palestine and Lebanon, reiterating, 'Surveying the developments in those countries, signs of the international intriguing factors and opportunist elements are seen very easily.'
He reiterated, 'In Lebanon, for instance, the footprints of the Americans and the Zionists are seen, because after a period of relative peace in that country, due to the intrigues of certain circles the situation turns chaotic there once again.
The Islamic Majlis speaker emphasized, 'May be some people had assumed they could harm the might of the veteran resistance forces this way, but their behavior backfired against themselves. This means the scenario aimed at ruining the Hezbollah forces and the servants of Islam turned into a story meant to reveal the roles of the plotters and raise many more questions.'
Larijani referred to the fake international court surveying Rafik Hariri's assassination, reiterating, 'Some of the claims made at that court raised serious question. They tired to sow the seeds of new long term crises in the region, but the leaders of the Lebanese resistance wisely and selflessly made great and good moves at the service of the Islamic world interests.'
He emphasized. 'This was a big and shameful goof off for both the American and the Zionists.'
Larijani emphasized. 'This is a big shame for the Americans and the Zionists.'
The Majlis speaker meanwhile noted, 'Despite the recent years' often repeated propagations by the Americans, we are now witnesses to the occurrence of a reactionary move in the region, which has increased the level of readiness and resistance among the Palestinian nation, so that even the Americans are now faced with a strong competitor in the region.'
Larijani meanwhile focusing on the people's uprising in Tunisia, reiterated, 'Some western countries, such as the United States, were opportunistically trying to ride the wave an to impose an alternative plan to the Tunisians, but working out of such plots is far from the realities, as the west is too deceitful to be successful in such scenes.'
The parliament speaker elsewhere in his comments found similarities between the recent developments in Tunisia with a long tale behind which a Zionist-US-British scenario was laid.
Larijani emphasized that the Sudanese nation, a one of the elite peoples of the region, must pay special attention to that scenario.
He wont on referring to the extraordinary session of the Islamic Inter-Parliamentary Union (IIPU), reiterating, 'This union must focus over the major concerns of the Islamic world and refrain from dealing with matters of secondary importance.'
Larijani reminded that the Islamic Republic of Iran, as the founder of that international body, when felt that some moves were made aimed at derailing the IIPU from its main path, adopted a wise behavior, not permitting the plotters to achieve their objectives.
Appreciating the UAE and some other regional officials who did heed the matter, he reiterated, 'This international apparatus should be preserved to safeguard the interests of the entire Islamic world interests.'
The Parliament speaker meanwhile referred to the good and appropriate relations between Iran and the Emirates, arguing, 'The Islamic Republic of Iran and the United Arab Emirates are both among the weathered countries in the region, enjoying good relations with one another both at governments and at peoples' levels.'
He added, 'The two countries will not permit the individuals, or countries that have penetrated in this good relation to create problems for the two nations and governments.'
The Islamic Republic of Iran's Ambassador to the UAE, too, presented a report in the process of the offices and the foundations of the Islamic Republic of Iran in United Arab Emirates during the session.
The Friday prayer Imam of Abu Dhabi's Imam Hussain (P) Mosque and the Representative of the Supreme Leader in UAE Hojjatoleslam Seyyed Mahmoud Madani, too, said, 'Some Satins are opposed to the cooperation and good ties between the Emirate and Iran and try incessantly aimed at disturbing them.'
The meeting took place at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Abu Dhabi and the IRI Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani also attended a dinner ceremony at its end.
Larijani is in UAE attending the extraordinary session of the IIPU.
Earlier, Iran had announced that it would not attend the IIPU meeting in protest at the illegality of the meeting and the fact that the issue of the three Iranian Islands in the Persian Gulf - namely greater Tunb, lesser Tunb, and Abu Moussa - was supposed to be raised at the meeting.
But after the mediation by Kuwaiti and UAE officials, Iran agreed to attend IIPU meet on condition that the Iranian islands issue would not be raised.
Larijani said at the Islamic union meeting that IIPU should try to foster the Islamic unity and foil the hegemonic countries’ plots meant to provoke division among Muslims.
The union should also campaign against the spread of extremism and divisive beliefs in the Islamic world, he said.
“The hegemonic countries supported the extremism to achieve their goals,” but now they are facing the repercussions of their wrong policy, the scholar-turned politician stated.
He went on to say that the Islamic nations should not allow the United States and the Zionist regime to undermine the Islamic world through their political intrigues.
The senior lawmaker also commented on the recent regional developments, highlighting the negative role of the US and Israel in regional issues.
The US intervention in Lebanon has undermined calm in the country, he said.
On southern Sudan’s referendum held last week on independence from the north, he said, “Who does not know that Britain and the Zionists are behind the southern Lebanon’s story to create a new issue in the Islamic region to erode the capabilities of the Muslims?”
On the recent collapse of the Tunisian government, Larijani said that the United States and some other Western countries opportunistically shifted their policy and withdrew support for their former ally (Zine El Abidine Ben Ali) to pretend they are supporters of the Tunisian nation.
In conclusion, he said today the IIPU should defend Lebanon’s resistance movement and the Palestinian nation against the plots of the US and the Zionist regime.
“This meeting should also hear the Tunisian nation’s shouts and help the Tunisian people restore their rights,” he added.
On the sidelines of the IIPU meeting, Larijani met and held talks with Kuwaiti Parliament Speaker Jassim Al-Khorafi, Sudanese Parliament Speaker Ahmed Ibrahim al-Taher, and Iraqi Parliament Speaker Osama al-Najafi.
