  • Boeing and iRobot Team Delivers 1st SUGVs to US Air Force Boeing 31 Jan 2011 -- The Boeing Company [NYSE: BA] and partner iRobot Corp. [NASDAQ: IRBT] today announced that they have delivered the first 30 Small Unmanned Ground Vehicles (SUGV) under a contract with the U.S. Air Force for the service's Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team. This is the first task order of an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract which runs through September 2012.
  • Lockheed Martin Receives $139 Million Contract for High Mobility Artillery Rocket System Lockheed Martin 31 Jan 2011 -- Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] has received a $139.6 million contract to provide 44 combat-proven High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) to the U.S. Army. This order will increase the Army’s HIMARS launcher fleet to 375, with deliveries continuing through January 2013. Work on the contract will be performed at the company’s facilities in Camden, AR, and Grand Prairie, TX.
  • MEADS Radar Completes Rotation Tests, Prepares To Move To Test Range Lockheed Martin 31 Jan 2011 -- The Medium Extended Air Defense System (MEADS) program has successfully completed milestone tests as the first Multifunction Fire Control Radar (MFCR) advances toward system tests this year at Pratica di Mare air force base in Italy.
  • U.S. Air Force Selects Northrop Grumman to Research Service-Oriented Architecture Interoperability for Integrated Air and Space Command and Control Northrop Grumman 31 Jan 2011 -- The U.S. Air Force has awarded Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) a contract to demonstrate information interoperability among different implementations of service-oriented architecture (SOA) information technology (IT) systems across the air and space command and control domains.
  • Oshkosh Defense Opens New California Training Facility Oshkosh 31 Jan 2011 -- Oshkosh Defense, a division of Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK), is expanding its training support services in California by opening a larger facility in Temecula, Calif., and moving out of its facility in Oceanside. The new California Regional Logistics Center, scheduled to open in February, is located adjacent to the Marine Corps Base (MCB) Camp Pendleton and will provide vehicle operator and maintenance training to Marines and Navy Seabees.
  • Raytheon Company Completes Acquisition of Applied Signal Technology, Inc. Raytheon 31 Jan 2011 -- Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) today announced the completion of its tender offer, through its wholly owned subsidiary RN Acquisition Company, for all outstanding shares of Applied Signal Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: APSG). The tender offer expired at 12:00 midnight, Eastern Time, on Friday, January 28, 2011. Based on information provided by BNY Mellon Shareowner Services, the depositary for the tender offer, approximately 12,413,103 shares, representing approximately 87.8 percent of AST's outstanding shares, were validly tendered and not withdrawn in the offer (including shares tendered by notice of guaranteed delivery). All such shares have been accepted for payment in accordance with the terms of the tender offer. Raytheon does not intend to offer a subsequent offering period in connection with the offer.
  • Sikorsky Delivers Its First Two S-92® Helicopters for Utility Operations in Afghanistan Sikorsky 31 Jan 2011 -- Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX), has delivered two S-92® helicopters to airlift services provider AAR CORP., for operations in Afghanistan. AAR will perform passenger and cargo lift missions on behalf of the United States Transportation Command (USTRANSCOM), a government agency that provides transportation for the Department of Defense.
  • Lockheed Martin SBIRS Team Passes Major Flight Operations Test Milestone on Path to GEO-1 Launch Lockheed Martin 31 Jan 2011 -- The U.S. Air Force/Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT]-led Space Based Infrared System (SBIRS) team has successfully completed a major space to ground interface and functional system test for the first geosynchronous (GEO-1) satellite. The milestone, known as the 5001.4 test, verifies the spacecraft’s performance and interface with the ground segment and represents one of the program’s most significant milestones to date on the path to launch.
