12/8/2010 - SOUTHWEST ASIA -- Coalition airpower integrated with Operation New Dawn partners in Iraq and the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan in the following operations December 07, according to Combined Air and Space Operations Center officials here.

Air Operations in Afghanistan

Zirani, Regional Command-East
U.S. Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces, conducted a show of force with flares, and released precision-guided munitions over an enemy position to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers called the engagements successful.

Bastion, RC-S
U.S. Air Force F-16C Fighting Falcon pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and conducted a show of force with flares which ground controllers deemed successful.

Asmar, RC-E
U.S. Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. Aircrews released precision-guided munitions against enemy positions to deter enemy activity. Joint terminal attack controllers reported the engagements as successful.

Lashkar Gah, RC-SW
U.S. Air Force MQ-9A Reaper crews and U.S. Air Force A10 Thunderbolt II pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. Crews released precision-guided munitions over enemy positions and pilots conducted a show of force with flares
to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers called the engagements successful.

Tirgari, RC-E
U.S. Air Force F-16C Fighting Falcon pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces, conducted shows of force with flares and performed multiple strafing runs over enemy positions to deter enemy activity. Joint terminal attack controllers declared the engagements successful.

Asadabad, RC-E
U.S. Air Force F-15E aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces, conducted a show of presence with flares, and released precision-guided munitions against enemy targets to deter enemy activity. Joint terminal attack controllers reported the engagements as successful.

Monari, RC-E
U.S. Air Force F-15E aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and conducted shows of force to deter enemy activity which ground controllers deemed successful.

Badghis Province, RC-W
A U.S. Air Force C-130 Hercules aircrew flew a combat-airdrop mission in Badghis Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 28,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.

Baghlan Province, RC-N
A U.S. Air Force C-130 Hercules aircrew flew a combat-airdrop mission in Baghlan Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 14,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.

Helmand Province, RC-S
U.S. Air Force C-130 Hercules and U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III aircrews flew combat-airdrop missions in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 116,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.

Kunduz Province, RC-N
A U.S. Air Force C-130 Hercules aircrew flew a combat-airdrop mission in Kunduz Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 14,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.

Nuristan Province, RC-E
A U.S. Air Force C-130 Hercules aircrew flew a combat-airdrop mission in Nuristan Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 12,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces

Zabul Province, RC-S
A U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III aircrew flew a combat-airdrop mission in Zabul Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 88,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.
