Russia, NATO move forward on chopper delivery to Afghanistan
15:32 18/11/2010 BRUSSELS, November 18 (RIA Novosti) - Russia and NATO may set up a fund to finance helicopter deliveries to Afghanistan, Russia's envoy to the alliance said on Thursday.
"We have discussed the possibility of providing [NATO with] helicopters and training technical crews," envoy Dmitry Rogozin told RIA Novosti.
Rogozin said the issue will be on the agenda of the NATO-Russia summit in Lisbon later this month.
Several NATO countries have individually delivered Mil Mi-17 Hip transport helicopters to Afghanistan and helped train crews to operate them.
