Afghan governor brands Pakistani secret service a 'headache'
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Berlin, Nov 15, IRNA -- Pakistan's ISI secret service is a 'headache' for Afghanistan in its bid to restore peace and stability in the country, said an Afghan official here Monday.
Addressing the Berlin-based German Council on Foreign Relations, Governor of the northeastern Afghan province of Laghman Mohammad Iqbal Azizi said Pakistan's military approach towards his country was 'dangerous.'
Pakistan is trying to use Afghanistan for its strategic objectives, he added.
Azizi stressed though one had to differentiate between the Pakistani government and its military and intelligence apparatus.
The Afghan official alleged the Pakistani-backed Taliban had been marginalized and was in fact 'dying.'
He labeled fighting Taliban a 'giant mission,' saying 'more patience' was needed to defeat the radical militia.
