Response To Publication Of Strategic Defence & Security Review
19 Oct 2010 | Ref. 237/2010
London, UK -- BAE Systems welcomes the publication of the UK Government’s Strategic Defence and Security Review (SDSR) today.
We have been fully aware of the challenges facing the new Government in addressing the public spending deficit and throughout the SDSR consultation period we have cooperated with the Ministry of Defence (MOD) to identify areas in which efficiencies could be delivered and key industrial capabilities are maintained.
Today’s announcement gives us the basis on which to adapt our plans. We will now study the Review and the outcome of tomorrow’s Comprehensive Spending Review and will make a further announcement alongside the release of our Interim Management Statement on Thursday 21 October 2010.
