9/28/2010 - SOUTHWEST ASIA -- Coalition airpower integrated with Operation New Dawn partners in Iraq and the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan in the following operations September 27, according to Combined Air and Space Operations Center officials here.
Air Operations in Afghanistan
Lashkar Gah, Regional Command-Southwest
U.S. Air Force MQ-9A Reaper crews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. Crews released precision-guided munitions over an enemy target to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers called the engagements successful.
Ghazni, RC-E
U.S. Navy F/A-18F Super Hornet aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and conducted a show of force which joint terminal attack controllers declared successful.
Morghab, RC-W
Coalition aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and conducted a show of force to deter enemy activity, Ground controllers deemed the engagement successful.
Abu Kala, RC-S
U.S. Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces
and conducted a show of presence with flares to deter enemy activity which ground controllers deemed successful.
Bagram, RC-E
U.S. Air Force F-16C Fighting Falcon pilots and U.S. Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. Pilots and aircrews conducted shows of force, some with flares, over enemy positions. Aircrews performed strafing runs over enemy positions to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers called the engagements successful.

U.S. Navy F/A-18F aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and conducted a show of force with flares which ground controllers called successful.
Balocan, RC-S
U.S. Navy F/A-18C Hornet and U.S. Air Force A-10 pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. A-10 pilots performed multiple strafing runs over multiple enemy targets to deter enemy activity. All pilots released multiple precision-guided munitions over multiple enemy positions to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers and joint terminal attack controllers declared the engagements successful.
Kabul, RC-E
U.S. Navy F/A-18C Hornet pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and conducted shows of force with flares which ground controllers called successful.
Asadabad, RC-E
U.S. Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and conducted a show of force with flares over an enemy position which joint terminal attack controllers deemed successful.
Orgun-E, RC-W
A U.S. Air Force B-1B Lancer aircrew provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The aircrew released precision-guided munitions against an enemy position to deter enemy activity. Joint terminal attack controllers called the engagements successful.

A U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III aircrew flew a combat-airdrop mission in Badghis Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 88,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.
Logar Province, RC-E
A U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III aircrew flew a combat-airdrop mission in Logar Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 60,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.
Zabul Province, RC-S
A U.S. Air Force C-130 Hercules aircrew flew a combat-airdrop mission in Zabul Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 25,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.
