RIA Novosti

10:58 27/09/2010 MAKASSA/MOSCOW, September 27 (RIA Novosti) - A handover ceremony for three Su-30MK fighters was held at an air base in southern Indonesia on Monday.

A $300 million contract, signed in August 2007, stipulated delivery of six Su-30MK fighter planes. Indonesia had previously bought the single-seat Su-27 fighter.

"The handover of another three Sukhoi fighters is further evidence of the successful development of military and technical ties between our country and Indonesia," Russian Ambassador to Indonesia Alexander Ivanov said at the ceremony in South Sulawesi.

Indonesia plans to buy another six Sukhoi Su-30MK fighters from Russia, Indonesian Air Force chief Marshal Imam Sufaat said earlier this month.
