5 more killed in fresh Kashmir violence

Srinagar, India, Sep 13, IRNA -- At least five more persons were killed and hundreds injured as government forces opened fire at curfew defying protesters at various places across Kashmir on Monday.
People defying strict round the clock curfew held massive anti-India demonstrations, partly fuelled by the reported desecration of the holy Qur’an in the US, and clashed with paramilitary forces in almost all major towns of Kashmir.
Government forces opened fire at northern Bandipur in the morning killing one and injuring five others.
Two more protesters who had sustained bullet injuries at Humhama in Srinagar outskirts on Monday afternoon succumbed to their injuries at a hospital here.
One more protester died in central Budgam district.
Here one police man identified as Davinder Singh was caught by a mob and given a severe beating. He died later in the hospital.
Three more persons were brought to State Hospital in Srinagar with bullet injuries.
With the new deaths, toll in the ongoing Kashmir turmoil has mounted to 75.
Reports of clashes are pouring in from almost every major town of the Kashmir valley.
