SAN ANTONIO, Texas (NNS) -- The U.S. Air Force 37th Training Group commanding officer visited Naval Technical Training Center aboard Lackland Air Force Base Aug. 17.
Col. Gregory J. Reese toured the facility to observe firsthand how the Navy trains its security force personnel.
Both the Navy and Air Force conduct the bulk of their security force protection training at Lackland Air Force Base.
"The cost-savings that we see from training in the same location is great, and you cannot put a price tag on the opportunity to break down past prejudices of one branch working with another," said Reese.
During his tour, Reese observed students being trained in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and weapons handling techniques.
"The student-instructor interaction here is great, and I believe any time you can personalize training you get more out of it," said Reese.
Reese previously served as Defense Force Commander of the 379th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron aboard Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.
