IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Beirut, Aug 10, IRNA -- Iran’s Ambassador to Lebanon Ghazanfar Roknabadi said here on Tuesday Iran is ready to help the Lebanese armed forces.

Roknabadi made the remarks in his meeting with Commander of the Armed Forces of Lebanon General Jean Kahwagi.

Roknabadi said Iran is ready to provide the help in response to a request made by Lebanese President Michel Suleiman to equip the country’s army.

During the meeting, the two sides focused on the latest developments in Lebanon, the recent Israeli aggression against the Lebanese territory in particular.

Further, the Iranian envoy expressed condolences to the Lebanese nation over the martyrdom of two Lebanese soldiers during the Israeli attack.

For his part, the Lebanese commander appreciated the Islamic Republic of Iran’s aid to the Lebanese after the 33-day war and Tehran's readiness to help Lebanon's army facing the Zionists' aggression.
