7/27/2010 - SOUTHWEST ASIA -- Coalition airpower integrated with ground forces in Iraq and the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan in the following operations July 25, according to Combined Air and Space Operations Center officials here.

Air Operations in Afghanistan

Lashkar Gah, Regional Command-Southwest
U.S. Navy F/A-18C Hornet pilots, U.S. Air Force MQ9A Reaper operators, and U.S. Air Force F-16C Fighting Falcon pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. F/A-18C pilots conducted a show of force and performed strafing runs over an enemy target to deter enemy activity. Reaper operators released a missile over an enemy target. F-16C pilots conducted shows of force over enemy positions. Ground controllers and joint terminal attack controllers declared the engagements successful.

Asmar, RC-E
U.S. Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. Aircrews conducted a show of force which ground controllers and joint terminal attack controllers called successful.

Kandahar, RC-S
U.S. Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. Pilots conducted a show of force to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers and joint terminal attack controllers called the engagement successful.

Kabul, RC-E
U.S. Air Force F-15E aircrews and U.S. Air Force F-16C pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. Aircrews conducted a show of force over an enemy target and pilots conducted a show of presence to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers and joint terminal attack controllers called the engagements successful.

Asadabad, RC-E
U.S. Air Force F-16C pilots and a U.S. Air Force B-1B Lancer aircrew provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. Pilots and the aircrew released precision-guided munitions against several enemy targets to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers and joint terminal attack controllers called the engagements successful.

Ali Kheyl, RC-E
U.S. Air Force F-16C pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and conducted shows of force with flares which ground controllers called successful.

Balocan, RC-SW
U.S. Air Force MQ9A Reaper operators provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and released precision-guided munitions over an enemy target to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers declared the engagement successful.

Shinkay, RC-S
U.S. Navy F/A-18C pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and conducted multiple shows of force which ground controllers declared successful.

Tirgari, RC-E
U.S. Air Force F-15E aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. Aircrews conducted a show of force with flares which ground controllers and joint terminal attack controllers called successful.

Soltani, RC-SW
U.S. Air Force A-10 pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. Pilots conducted shows of force and performed a strafing run against an enemy target to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers and joint terminal attack controllers declared the engagements successful.

Konduz, RC-N
U.S. Air Force F-15E aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. Aircrews conducted a show of force with flares and performed multiple strafing runs against enemy positions to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers and joint terminal attack controllers called the engagements successful.

Morghab, RC-S
A U.S. Air Force B-1B aircrew provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and conducted a show of force with flares to deter enemy activity, Joint terminal attack controllers and ground controllers declared the engagements successful

Airlift Action

Dai Kundi Province, RC-S
A U.S. Air Force C-130 Hercules aircrew flew a combat-airdrop mission in Dai Kundi Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 29,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.

Helmand Province, RC-S
U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III aircrews and a U.S. Air Force C-130 Hercules aircrew flew combat-airdrop missions in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 239,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.
