7/23/2010 - SOUTHWEST ASIA -- Coalition airpower integrated with ground forces in Iraq and the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan in the following operations July 21, according to Combined Air and Space Operations Center officials here.
Air Operations in Afghanistan
Khavel, Regional Command-North
U.S. Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and conducted a show of force which ground controllers declared successful.
Tarin Kowt, RC-S
U.S. Navy F/A-18C Hornet pilots and U.S. Navy F/A-18F Super Hornet aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. Pilots conducted shows of force with flares over several enemy positions to deter enemy activity. Aircrews and pilots released precision-guided munitions over several targets to deter enemy activity. Joint terminal attack controllers and ground controllers called the engagements successful.

U.S. Navy F/A-18F aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and conducted a show of force with flares which ground controllers declared successful.
Abchakan, RC-E
U.S. Navy F/A-18F aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and conducted shows of force with flares which joint terminal attack controllers called successful.
Now Zad, RC-SW
U.S. Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and conducted a show of force with flares to deter enemy activity. Joint terminal attack controllers called the engagement successful.
Sangin, RC-SW
U.S. Navy F/A-18E Super Hornet pilots and U.S. Air Force A-10 pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. A-10 pilots performed multiple strafing runs against several enemy targets and conducted a show of force with flares to deter enemy activity. F/A-18E pilots conducted a show of force and a strafing run against an enemy position to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers and joint terminal attack controllers declared the engagements successful.
Asadabad, RC-E
U.S. Air Force F-16C Fighting Falcon pilots and U.S. Air Force F-15E aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. Pilots performed multiple strafing runs and released precision-guided munitions against several enemy targets. Aircrews released precision-guided munitions against an enemy position to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers and joint terminal attack controllers called the engagements successful.

A U.S. Air Force C-130 Hercules aircrew flew a combat-airdrop mission in Badghis Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 28,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.
Farah Province, RC-W
A U.S. Air Force C-130 Hercules aircrew flew a combat-airdrop mission in Farah Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 44,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.
Helmand Province, RC-S
U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III aircrews and a U.S. Air Force C-130 Hercules aircrew flew combat-airdrop missions in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 210,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.
