7/14/2010 - SOUTHWEST ASIA -- Coalition airpower integrated with ground forces in Iraq and the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan in the following operations July 10, according to Combined Air and Space Operations Center officials here.

Air Operations in Afghanistan

Qal-E-Naw, Regional Command-West
A U.S. Air Force B-1B Lancer aircrew provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The aircrew released precision-guided munitions on an enemy target to deter enemy activity. Joint terminal attack controllers called the engagement successful.

Konduz, RC-N
U.S. Air Force F-16C Fighting Falcon pilots, U.S. Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle aircrews, and a U.S. Air Force B-1B Lancer aircrew provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. F-15E aircrews and F-16C pilots conducted multiple shows of force with flares to deter enemy activity. A B-1B aircrew released multiple precision guided munitions against an enemy target. Joint terminal attack controllers and ground controllers declared the engagements successful.

Khavel, RC-N
A U.S. Air Force B-1B Lancer aircrew provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The aircrew released multiple precision-guided munitions against an enemy position. Joint terminal attack controllers and ground controllers declared the engagement successful.

Lashkar Gah, RC-SW
U.S. Air Force MQ-9 Reaper operators provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. Operators released a missile against an enemy target. Joint terminal attack controllers and ground controllers called the engagement successful.

Chahar Bagh, RC-SW
U.S. Navy F/A-18C Hornet pilots and coalition aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. Pilots conducted shows of force to deter enemy activity. Aircrews conducted a show of presence to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers and joint terminal attack controllers called the engagements successful.

U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III aircrews flew combat-airdrop missions in Paktika Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 142,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.
