Another British Marine killed in Sangin

London, July 9, IRNA -- A Royal Marine has been killed in an explosion while on a foot patrol in southern Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defence announced on Friday.
The British soldier lost his life in the remote Sangin area of Helmand province on Thursday, where almost a third of the 314 UK troops have been killed.
The death comes after Defence Secretary, Liam Fox announced this week that British troops are to pull out of Sangin and be replaced by US forces, but he denied that they were retreating.
“Any attempt by anyone to describe this as a retreat would be completely contemptible,” Fox told MPs in the face of growing criticism about the nine-year-old war.
Former shadow health minister John Baron warned that Britain was in danger of achieving a "pyrrhic victory" where losses outweigh the gains.
