Air Operations in Afghanistan
Tarin Kowt, Regional Command-Southwest
U.S. Air Force A-10C Thunderbolt II pilots, U.S. Navy F/A-18F Super Hornet aircrews, coalition aircrews and U.S. Air Force MQ-1 Predator operators provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. Aircrews and pilots conducted shows of force to deter enemy forces. Operators released a missile against an enemy target. Ground controllers called the engagements successful.
