
ARRA Funded $2.9 Million Energy Projects Complete at Camp Pendleton

CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. (NNS) -- A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton (MCBCP), Calif., June 29 celebrating the completion of an American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funded solar photovoltaic rooftop power system installation and interior lighting retrofit at the base.
The speakers at the ribbon cutting ceremony included Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Southwest, Resident Officer In Charge of Construction Camp Pendleton, Cmdr. Scott King; MCBCP Resource Energy Manager Charles Howell; MW Service Inc. Representative Marie Willis; and MCBCP Recycling Center Representative Charles Bradshaw.
NAVFAC Southwest awarded MW Services Inc. $2.9 million Sept. 28, 2009, to provide design, construction, permitting, commissioning and training for an 88 kilowatt (KW) DC and 125 KW DC rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) system and lighting retrofit that included the installation of light emitting diode (LED) canned down light fixtures.
MW Services Inc. installed ARRA compliant and dimmable light fixtures and included the option for additional PV modules.
