7/6/2010 - SOUTHWEST ASIA -- Coalition airpower integrated with ground forces in Iraq and the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan in the following operations July 02, according to Combined Air and Space Operations Center officials here.

Air Operations in Afghanistan

Lashkar Gah, Regional Command-Southwest
U.S. Air Force A-10C Thunderbolt II pilots and U.S. Navy F/A-18 Hornet pilots, provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. Pilots strafed enemy positions and conducted shows of force with flares to deter enemy activity. Joint terminal attack controllers declared the engagements successful.

Asadabad, RC-E
U.S. Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. F-15E aircrews released precision-guided munitions against enemy targets to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers declared the engagements successful.

Asmar, RC-E
U.S. Air Force F-15E aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. Aircrews released precision-guided munitions against enemy targets to suppress enemy fire. Ground controllers declared the engagements successful.

Morghab, RC-W
U.S. Air Force A-10C pilots, U.S. Air Force B-1B Lancer aircrews and coalition aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. Pilots strafed enemy positions. Aircrews released multiple precision-guided munitions on enemy positions. Ground controllers and joint terminal attack controllers called the engagements successful.

U.S. Air Force F-15E aircrews and U.S. Air Force A-10C pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. Aircrews and pilots conducted multiple shows of force with flares to suppress enemy fire. Ground controllers called the engagements successful.

Orgun, RC-E
U.S. Air Force A-10C pilots, U.S. Air Force F-16C Fighting Falcon pilots, and U.S. Air Force F-15E aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. Kandahar Province, RC-S
A U.S. Air Force C-130 Hercules aircrew flew a combat-airdrop mission in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 34,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.

Zabul Province, RC-S
A U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III aircrew flew a combat-airdrop mission in Zabul Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 88,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.

Paktika Province, RC-E
A U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III aircrew flew a combat-airdrop mission in Paktika Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 60,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.

Oruzgan Province, RC-E
U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III aircrews flew combat-airdrop missions in Oruzgan Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 143,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.
