7/2/2010 - SOUTHWEST ASIA -- Coalition airpower integrated with ground forces in Iraq and the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan in the following operations June 30, according to Combined Air and Space Operations Center officials here.

Air Operations in Afghanistan

Chahar Bagh, Regional Command-Southwest
U.S. Air Force MQ-9A Reaper operators and U.S. Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. Operators released a missile against an enemy target. F-15E aircrews strafed an enemy tree line position. Ground controllers declared the engagements successful.

Asmar, RC-E
U.S. Air Force F-16C Fighting Falcon pilots and U.S. Air Force F-15E aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. Pilots and aircrews released multiple precision-guided munitions against enemy positions. Pilots also conducted shows of force with flares to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers and joint terminal attack controllers declared the engagements successful.

Sar Banader, RC-SW
U.S. Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces convoy. A-10 pilots released precision-guided munitions against enemy targets. Joint terminal attack controllers called the engagements successful.

Asadabad, RC-E
U.S. Air Force F-15E aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. F-15E aircrews released precision-guided munitions against enemy targets to suppress hostile fire and conducted shows of force with flares to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers declared the engagements successful.

Tarin Kowt, RC-SW
U.S. Air Force A-10 pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. A-10 pilots conducted cannon-fire strafing runs, launched rockets, and conducted shows of force with flares on an enemy position. Ground controllers and joint terminal attack controllers declared the engagements successful.

Sheykhabad, RC-E
U.S. Air Force F-15E aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. Aircrews conducted a show of force to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers called the engagement successful.

Konduz, RC-N
U.S. Air Force F-15E aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. Aircrews conducted show of forces to suppress hostile fire. Ground controllers called the engagements successful.

Airlift Action

Paktika Province, RC-E
A U.S. Air Force C-130 Hercules aircrew flew a combat-airdrop mission in Paktika Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 34,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.

Badghis Province, RC-W
A U.S. Air Force C-130 Hercules aircrew flew a combat-airdrop mission in Badghis Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 37,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.

Ghazni Province, RC-E
A U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III aircrew flew a combat-airdrop mission in Ghazni Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 62,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.

Zabul Province, RC-S
A U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III aircrew flew a combat-airdrop mission in Zabul Province, Afghanistan, delivering 62,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.
