Army Reserve Soldiers, with the 399th Combat Support Hospital out of New York, prepare medicine bags at the New Horizons - Haiti 2010 encampment June 27 for the patients they will see at the U.S. Army South New Horizons Ennery medical assistance site.
New Horizons, in partnership with the government of Haiti, is conducting various medical, dental and engineering missions for the locals in Gonaives. New Horizons also provides valuable experience to learn in a real-world environment for our U.S. Forces.
"Today we are just preparing for the week ahead of us," said Staff Sgt. Andrews Kyere, a patient administrative specialist. "We hope to do as much as we can for the people of Haiti while we are here."
The Soldiers of the 399th Combat Support Hospital will provide general medical support from June 31 to July 9.
Maj. John Johnson, a physician with 399th Combat Support Hospital, feels this New Horizons exercise is great. "I get a chance to do what I do - take care of people."
