6/28/2010 - SOUTHWEST ASIA -- Coalition airpower integrated with ground forces in Iraq and the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan in the following operations June 25, according to Combined Air and Space Operations Center officials here.
Air Operations in Afghanistan
Balocan, Regional Command-South
U.S. Air Force MQ-9A Reaper operators provided armed overwatch for a dismounted patrol. Operators released a missile against an enemy position that posed a threat to friendly forces. Ground controllers declared the engagement successful.
Asadabad, RC-E
U.S. Air Force F-16C Fighting Falcon pilots and U.S. Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. F-16C pilots released precision-guided munitions against an enemy position to deter hostile activity. Later, F-15E aircrews conducted shows of presence to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers and joint terminal attack controllers declared the engagements successful.
Mushan, RC-E
U.S. Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and released precision-guided munitions against an enemy weapons cache. Coalition joint terminal attack controllers called the engagement successful.
Tarin Kowt, RC-SW
U.S. Air Force A-10 pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and released precision-guided munitions and conducted cannon-fire strafing runs against enemy forces inside caves. Joint terminal attack controllers declared the engagements successful.
Shanidan, RC-E
U.S. Air Force F-15E aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. Aircrews conducted a show of force to deter enemy activity. Ground controllers declared the engagement successful.
Gereshk, RC-S
A U.S. Air Force B-1B Lancer aircrew provided armed overwatch and a show of force for a dismounted patrol securing a compound and evacuating the area. Joint terminal attack controllers declared the show of force successful.
Chakar Bagh, RC-SW
A U.S. Air Force B-1B aircrew provided armed overwatch and a show of force for a friendly-forces convoy to deter enemy activity. Later, a Coalition aircrew provided armed overwatch and a show of force to deter further enemy aggression against friendly forces. Joint terminal attack controllers declared the shows of force successful.

Farah Province, RC-W
U.S. Air Force C-130 Hercules and U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III aircrews flew combat-airdrop missions in Farah Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 132,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.
Kandahar Province, RC-S
A U.S. Air Force C-130 Hercules aircrew flew a combat-airdrop mission in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 28,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces
Dai Kundi Province, RC-S
A U.S. Air Force C-130 Hercules aircrew flew a combat-airdrop mission in Dai Kundi Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 29,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.
Herat Province, RC-W
U.S. Air Force C-130 Hercules aircrews flew combat-airdrop missions in Herat Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 34,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.
Oruzgan Province, RC-S
A U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III aircrew flew a combat-airdrop mission in Oruzgan Province, Afghanistan, delivering approximately 70,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.
