Defense cooperation MoU to be signed with Tajikistan

Dushanbe, May 13, IRNA – IRI Minister of Defense and Logistical Support for Armed Forces said upon arrival here an MOU will be singed with my Tajik counterpart on defense cooperation.

Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi who was speaking with IRNA reporter at Dushanbe International Airport added, “We hope to be able to draw new horizons for bilateral defense cooperation and a good model for constructive relations, leading to boosted security and strengthened regional stability during this visit.”

He said, “Since the Islamic Republic of Iran is pursuing the establishment and expansion of regional lasting security as a major tactical strategy, we believe that bilateral, multilateral and regional consultations can in addition to materializing that objective ensue securing the national interests of the regional nations, a well as their wellbeing, peace of mind and territorial integrity.”

Expressing delight over being present at Tajikistan, the defense and logistical support minister said, “Iran and Tajikistan have shared histories, shared languages and shared cultures, base on which we enjoy very good comprehensive relations in entire defense, economic, political, economic and cultural fields.”

The Islamic Republic of Iran’s Defense and Logistical Support f for Armed Forces arrived in Dushanbe Wednesday evening for an official visit on an invitation extended to him by his Tajik counterpart and was received as the airport by Tajikistan’s Defense Minister Shir-Ali Kheirollahev the Iranian Ambassador to Dushanbe Ali-Asghar She’rdoust, and a number high ranking officials of Tajikistan.

Brigadier General Vahidi is scheduled to hold talks with President Imomali Rakhmanov Brigadier General Kehirollahev and some other high ranking Tajik officials.
