Iran voices condolence on death of Polish president in plane crash

Tehran, April 10, IRNA -- Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast on Saturday expressed condolences on death of Polish President Lech Kaczynski and his entourage in a plane crash on Saturday.
Mehmanparast said that the Islamic Republic of Iran expresses condolences on the tragedy and sympathizes with the bereaved families.
Polish President Lech Kaczynski and a number of the country's highest officials died on Saturday when their plane Tupoleve-154 crashed in North Smolensk in west of Russia.
Some 132 passengers and the crew on board were killed in the incident.
The Polish president was to attend in a special ceremony in Russia to commemorate polish officers killed during world war II.
