PORT HUENEME, Calif. (NNS) -- Naval Facilities Expeditionary Logistics Center (NFELC) awarded a contract for up-armoring solutions for support equipment to ArmorWorks Enterprise, LLC, Chandler, Ariz.; Southern California Gold Products, Inc., Oxnard, Calif.; and American Defense Systems, Inc., Hicksville, N.Y., March 29.

An indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity, firm-fixed-price multiple award contract was awarded to the three contractors.

"Armoring Naval Construction Force equipment is a major initiative as the Seabee construction mission is increasingly performed in a hostile environment," said Capt. Jim Worcester, NFELC commanding officer. "This contract includes all requirements to produce a reliable armoring solution providing a safer environment for the Seabees, and construction equipment that is deployed mission-ready."

The work to be performed includes all labor, materials and services necessary to design, engineer, fabricate and integrate armor systems, sub-systems and testing requirements.

The contract ordering period will be for a base year plus up to four option years, with an expected completion date of April 2015. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The base year and each of the four option years have a not-to-exceed amount of $10,000,000. The maximum dollar value for all three contracts combined is not to exceed $50,000,000. Work will be performed at various contractor sites within the continental United States.

This contract was competitively procured via the Navy Electronic Commerce Online Web site as a small business set-aside under the North American Industry Classification System 336992.

The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Specialty Center Acquisitions, Port Hueneme, Calif., is the contracting activity.
