3/27/2010 - SOUTHWEST ASIA -- Coalition airpower integrated with ground forces in Iraq and the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan in the following operations March 24 according to Combined Air and Space Operations Center officials here.

Asmar, Regional Command-East
U.S. Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle aircrews released precision-guided munitions against enemy forces attacking friendly forces from multiple positions. Ground forces confirmed the aircrew's actions neutralized enemy forces.
U.S. Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle aircrews released precision-guided munitions against advancing enemy forces attacking friendly ground forces. The aircrews also released precision-guided munitions against an enemy fighting position. Friendly ground forces declared the aircrews' actions were successful. Aircrews then provided armed overwatch and conducted a show of force, releasing flares, for friendly forces near a disabled helicopter. The aircrews then escorted U.S. and Coalition helicopter aircrews recovering personnel from the disabled helicopter.
Helmand Province, RC-S
U.S. Marine AV-8B Harrier II pilots strafed enemy forces attacking friendly ground forces. Ground forces confirmed the pilots' actions were successful. Pilots then continued to provide armed overwatch for friendly forces and conducted armed reconnaissance, conducting a successful show of force, with flares launched, to deter enemy actions.
Shahidan, RC-E
U.S. Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle aircrews conducted armed reconnaissance and a show of force. The show of force was declared successful by forces on the ground.
Moqor, RC-E
U.S. Air Force F-16C Fighting Falcon pilots provided armed overwatch for friendly forces under attack. Pilots conducted a show of force above enemy positions, expending flares, meeting the ground commander's intent.
Jalalabad, RC-E
U.S. Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle aircrews provided armed overwatch for friendly forces and conducted multiple shows of force to deter enemy action against friendly forces. A joint terminal attack controller declared the shows of force successful.
Airlift Action
Farah Province, RC-W
U.S. Air Force C-130 Hercules aircrews flew combat-resupply missions in Farah Province, Afghanistan, airdropping approximately 57,000 pounds of combat-sustainment supplies to friendly forces.
