
Environmental Cleanup Contract Awarded to Hawaii Small Businesses

PEARL HARBOR (NNS) -- Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Pacific awarded a $30 million maximum, firm fixed-price, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) multiple award contract March 9 to four small businesses in Hawaii.
CKY Inc., EATC JV, and WCP-Zapata JV, LLC, of Honolulu, Hawaii, and FOPC Inc., of Kapolei, Hawaii, were each issued a task order in the amount of $10,000 for the minimum guarantee in support of the environmental remedial action program at various sites in the NAVFAC Pacific Area of Responsibility (AOR). These four contractors will compete for additional task orders under the terms and conditions of the contract.
"This is a very significant accomplishment for our small business community in Hawaii working on environmental projects," said Floria Pang, NAVFAC Pacific small and disadvantaged business advisor.
"The Navy is very pleased that there is a group of small businesses in Hawaii who can conduct this type of work."
Work will be performed at various sites predominantly on Oahu; however, work may also be performed at any site within the NAVFAC Pacific AOR including Guam, Japan, and Diego Garcia. The work to be performed provides for services for the performance of remedial actions at environmentally contaminated sites located at predominantly Navy and Marine Corps installations.
This contract was competitively procured via the Navy Electronic Commerce Online Web site with 10 proposals received. The term of the contract is not to exceed 60 months, with an expected completion date of March 2015.
