Larijani: foreign troops in Afghanistan have complicated situation
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, March 3, IRNA -- Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said on Wednesday that military presence of the aliens in Afghanistan has further complicated the situation in the country.
In a meeting with Afghan Majlis Vice Speaker Amanollah Peyman, he referred to the profound friendship between the Iranians and Afghans and said that their relations are beyond the geographical, historical, lingual and civilizational commonalities.
“What has strengthened the ties more than other factors is religious commonalities,” he said.
Commending Afghans’ resistance to the hegemony of the arrogant powers, Larijani said that they will overcome all the problems and challenges.
Referring to the good parliamentary ties between Iran and Afghanistan, he expressed Iranian parliament's readiness to make available to Afghanistan its experience in the fields of passing legislation and supervision of the state affairs.
Peyman, for his part, described Iran as a powerful neighbor for Afghanistan and said that it will never forget Iran’s goodwill and assistance in the past three decades.
He called for Iran’s further cooperation in reconstruction of Afghanistan.
He extended an invitation from Afghan officials to Larijani to visit Afghanistan. Larijani accepted the invitation and said that he would visit Afghanistan in the first opportunity.
