NAPLES, Italy (NNS) -- Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Europe Africa Southwest Asia (EURAFSWA) awarded a $1,051,718 Base Operations Support (BOS) contract for Jebel Ali, United Arab Emirates on Feb. 9.

A first for NAVFAC at Jebel Ali, this new contract establishes comprehensive BOS services under one contract. It includes a base performance year and four option years and will provide a broad range of facility services such as, refuse and wastewater removal, pavement clearance and custodial services at the only dedicated aircraft carrier port in the Arabian Gulf. The contract also provides much-needed facility investment services such as air conditioning filter cleaning, generator maintenance and a service call capability to respond to occasional maintenance and repair requirements.

NAVFAC EURAFSWA executes over $600 million a year in construction, professional engineering and facilities services for the U.S. Navy, U.S. Department of Defense and NATO commands in those countries throughout Europe, Africa and Southwest Asia.
