IAI Presents Multi-Channel Software Defined Radio

Jan 27, 2010

Israel Aerospace Industries' (IAI) ELTA Systems Ltd., a group and wholly owned subsidiary of IAI, will present its ARC-840D, a state-of-the-art multi-band, multi-channel Software Defined Radio (SDR), at this year's Singapore Airshow. The ARC-840, an advanced SDR communication system featuring Software Communication Architecture (SCA), is designed and built for simultaneous transmission and reception of voice and data, either by line-of-sight or by satellite communication.

"There is a growing need for a wide range of communication applications, using minimum resources, and that makes the ARC-840D SDR the perfect solution," said Nissim Hadas, Corporate VP of IAI and President of ELTA. "By implementing a common frame, the system is capable of enclosing various communication plug-in units, all of which operate simultaneously."

The technology used in the ARC-840D is based on software programming and on common hardware, which ensures that the same system can be applied for different kinds of communication systems.
