1/9/2010 - SOUTHWEST ASIA -- Coalition airpower integrated with ground forces in Iraq and the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan in the following operations January 06, according to Combined Air and Space Operations Center officials here.

Air Operations in Afghanistan:

Lashkar Gah
Navy F/A-18F Super Hornet aircraft provided armed overwatch for friendly forces. The aircrew conducted a strafing run on the coordinates passed to them. The strafing run was successful in deterring enemy action.

Chahar Bagh
Navy F/A-18C Hornet aircraft provided armed overwatch and reconnaissance for Coalition Forces. The Coalition forces unit reported taking small arms fire and requested air support. A show of force was conducted and successfully ended the enemy fire.
