11/19/2009 - SOUTHWEST ASIA -- Coalition airpower integrated with ground forces in Iraq and the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan in the following operations November 16 according to Combined Air and Space Operations Center officials here.
Air Operations in Afghanistan:
Asadabad
Air Force F-16C Fighting Falcon aircraft provided armed overwatch and surveillance for friendly forces. When suspicious activity was reported, a show of force was performed to deter any potential threat to the friendly forces. The show of force was considered successful when no enemy action was noted.
Sheykhabad
F-16C aircraft provided reconnaissance and armed overwatch for friendly forces. A show of force was requested made to deter enemy action during an improvised explosive device disarmament. The show of force was considered successful when no enemy action was noted during the IED disarmament.
