Northrop Grumman Awarded Navy Seaport-E Task Orders

HERNDON, Va., Oct. 19, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The U.S. Navy Seaport-Enhanced contract office has awarded Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) four task orders to support several Navy and joint programs. Together, the task orders are valued at more than $80 million.

"Our top priority for all of these task orders will be to demonstrate top performance at an exceptional price combined with complete commitment to customer satisfaction.

Under the terms of the three-year, Special Access Support Program (SASS) task order, Northrop Grumman will reside on site with the customer to support analytic, strategic, technical, managerial, planning, monitoring, evaluation, assessment and documentation of programs. The SASS team will provide periodic updates to the Joint Staff regarding potential investment decisions for programs addressing capability gaps and will assess the sufficiency of joint capabilities that enable joint forces to execute missions.

Northrop Grumman will also support the three-year Information Technology, Modelling and Simulation Services task order. According to the terms of the contract, the company will develop, maintain and manage models, knowledge management tools and databases to include planning, software, testing, data, documentation, training and technical refresh. The contract includes around-the-clock help desk support, configuration management support, system administration and maintenance, and training regarding specific models.

Under the terms of the Analytical Agenda and Deliberate Planning (AA&DP) support services program, Northrop Grumman will provide analytical and planning services to a variety of customers including: the Joint Staff and U.S. Africa Command, European Command, Central Command, Pacific Command, Northern Command, Special Operations Command, Strategic Command, Transportation Command, Joint Forces Command and Southern Command as well as U.S. Forces Korea. The company will perform studies, analysis and assessment of programs, processes, doctrines, policies and strategies, and provide guidance to customers. The tasks will also support U.S. Department of Defense specific planning timelines and increased planning requirements.

For the Strategic Planning, Analysis, and Technical Support to Humanitarian Assistance, Disaster Relief and Mine Action Program for Headquarters U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) task, Northrop Grumman will support CENTCOM objectives by helping to shape the security environment for nations in the CENTCOM area of responsibility.
