SAN DIEGO (NNS) -- Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Southwest awarded I.E.-Pacific, Inc., a small business from San Diego, a $76,705 contract for construction of a parking lot at the Marine Corps Reserve Center in Bakersfield, Calif., June 30.
Funds for the awarded contract were provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
"The project at the Marine Corps Reserve Center in Bakersfield, Calif., will help correct a major deficiency with the foundation of the building," said Mark McMillin, NAVFAC Southwest project manager for this project. "It will also help reduce the footprint of the facility to what is needed by the current mission. This will save the federal government from future maintenance costs and create a safer work environment over the future life of the facility."
I.E.-Pacific, Inc. will perform work that includes all construction services to construct a parking lot. Work is expected to be completed by November 2009.
"I.E.-Pacific, Inc. is proud to modernize the Marine Reserve Training Center in Bakersfield, Calif., and improve the quality of life for the Marine reservists serving our country," said Diane Koester-Dion, president of I.E.-Pacific, Inc.
