CAMP ARIFJAN, Kuwait (NNS) -- Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 11 held a change of command ceremony June 22 at Camp Arifjan.

Cmdr. Stephen Revelas, NMCB 11's first and only commanding officer since the command was recommissioned Sept. 14, 2007, was relieved by Cmdr. Michael Monreal.

Capt. Edward Brown, commander of Seabee Readiness Group 20, was pleased to attend the ceremony during NMCB 11's historic first deployment since its recomissioning.

"Before NMCB 11 left, I spoke to most of you and asked you to go out and make history, I believe you've done just that. The expert guidance of Commander Revelas has been instrumental; you've done a great job with these fine young men and women, skipper," said Brown.

Revelas will transfer to Naval District Washington and serve as the Public Works Officer.

Monreal is arriving at NMCB 11 after a three-year stint at Naval Station Rota, Spain, where he served as the Facilities Engineering and Acquisition director and public works officer.

The Seabees of NMCB 11 are currently deployed to the Horn of Africa, Afghanistan, Kuwait and Iraq in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom.
