TOGO CHOOSES THE TC-54
Paris Air Show - Le Bourget, 15 June 2009
Togo's armed forces have acquired 30 Panhard TC-54 trucks to help deploy their peacekeeping troops in East Chad. Painted in the UN's white colour scheme, these vehicles which were placed in service at the beginning of the year are being used to transport troops and supplies for the Togolese contingent deployed in Abeche.
The TC-54 is a sturdy vehicle that copes extremely well with off-road conditions and it is very well suited to missions in desert regions where a force's various units are often separated by long distances.
This 4x4 truck which is now being mass-produced was developed to cater for the specific needs of armed forces' in the logistics field. The TC 54 offers the best payload/empty weight ratio in this its vehicle category. In fact, its 5-tonne military load is greater than its empty weight of 4.4 tonnes. This technical feat, achieved by means of innovative architecture, provides users with significant savings throughout the vehicle's service life along with enhanced operational capacity. The TC 54 can be supplied in a variety of versions for use as a command vehicle or shelter carrier, and for supply and troop carrying missions.
Many countries have expressed an interest in this vehicle on the strength of the performances it offers.
