At least 78 dead in Indonesian C-130 military plane crash

Kuala Lumpur, May 20, IRNA -- An Indonesian military plane C-130 crashed early Wednesday and burst into flames killing at least 78 people.
The military aircraft smashed into four houses in Gaplak before skidding into a field on the island of Java.
IRNA regional office in Kuala Lumpur reported that witnesses say they saw the plane split apart in the air following a loud bang.
The cause is not yet known.
IRNA reporter in Jakarta said that images of soldiers carrying badly burned bodies have been screened by local television stations.
The C-130 Hercules transport plane was on a routine mission in East Java, air force spokesman said.
The plane was carrying 112 air force personnel and crew, he said.
