U.S drone attack kills 10 in Pakistan's tribal region
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Islamabad, May 9, IRNA -- A U.S drone aircraft struck Pakistan's South Waziristan tribal region on Saturday, killing 10 people, a TV channel reported.
There was no immediate official confirmation of the report.
Geo television reported that U.S drone fired four missiles at Sararogha area in South Waziristan.
Tribesmen pulled eight bodies out of the rubbles. Seven others were injured and two of them later died of wounds in hospital, according to the report.
The strike coincided with the visit to the United States of President Asif Ali Zardari, who took up the issue of drone attacks inside Pakistani territory, Pakistani officials say.
The U.S drones regularly fire missiles on Pakistani tribal regions to hit the hideouts of suspected militants, but Pakistani officials say that mostly civilians are targeted.
