Marine Corps Systems Command Awards $96 Million Contract to SAIC

--Company to Provide Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) and Incident Response Program Support

SAN DIEGO and MCLEAN, Va., May 4, 2009 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (NYSE: SAI) today announced it has been awarded a prime contract by U.S. Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) to provide chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) and incident response program support. The single award, prime contract, effective May 1, 2009, has a one year base period of performance, four one-year options and a total contract value of $96 million if all options are exercised.

Under the contract, SAIC will provide support services and equipment procurement to the family of incident response systems (FIRS) section of Marine Corps Systems Command. The FIRS team provides leading edge consequence management and technologies to incident response and operating forces from Federal agencies including the Department of Defense, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and the U.S. Marine Corps. SAIC will support FIRS by providing services including procurement of supplies and equipment, inventory management, training, and maintenance and warranty support.
