58 LTTE child soldiers surrender at Kilinochchi

New Delhi, May 1, IRNA - A group of 58 Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) child soldiers surrendered to Security Forces on Thursday at Kilinochchi.
38 males and 20 female child soldiers between the ages of 14 and 18 years of age were produced before the Vavuniya District courts.
The District court has issued orders to send them to the Ambepussa rehabilitation centre, All India Radio (AIR) reported quoting Sri Lankan Army.
Meanwhile, military spokesperson said that the official Army website of the Sri Lankan Government was hacked early Friday morning.
Sources said that reportedly Tigers and their proxies appear to have done this.
Also in the Mullaithivu seas, two LTTE suicide boats and one attack craft were destroyed by the Navy, killing 23 LTTE cadres on Friday.
The Navy Spokesperson Mahesh Karunaratne said that three boats were sighted by the patrolling party at about 1 am.
The Navy directed heavy gunfire destroying all of them.
According to him two suicide boats and one attack craft of the LTTE were sunk.
Intercepted communications revealed that at least 23 LTTE cadres were killed in the operation.
Search and rescue mission continues.
