Yemeni Navy frees oil tanker, kills three Somali pirates
27/04/2009 12:21 ABU DHABI, April 27 (RIA Novosti) - A Yemeni Navy unit has freed an oil tanker seized in the Gulf of Aden and killed three Somali pirates, a Defense Ministry source said on Monday.
The empty Qana ship was on its way to the Yemeni city of Aden when 16 pirates hijacked it on Sunday.
"A Yemeni Navy commando unit stormed the hijacked ship at 5.30 a.m. on Monday, killing three pirates, injuring two others, and arresting four," Yemen's 26Sep.net website reported.
Four Yemeni officers were injured in the clash.
